John T. Donelan, Esquire, AV rated attorney, member of the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and a Master of the Bench of the Walter Chandler American Inn of Court (Bankruptcy), graduated from Columbia University in 1973 and from George Mason University School of Law in 1978.
A member of the Virginia State Bar since 1978, Donelan has extensiveexperience in bankruptcy law, civil litigation and business law. Donelan’s Firm also provides general business, trust and estates, and probate services.
Donelan represents individuals and corporations in the preparation and successful completion of chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy petitions, obtaining confirmation of chapter 11 and 13 plans, and defending clients against creditor actions. Donelan is recognized in the legal community for his integrity and aggressive representation of his clients.
On the creditor side, the Firm has extensive experience in filing motions for relief from stay, proofs of claim, objections to proofs of claim, Section 523 and Section 727 complaints, objections to disclosure statements, objections to confirmation of chapter 11 and 13 plans,prosecution and defense of preference actions and other miscellaneous creditor actions.
The Firm also takes out-of-state referrals in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division.
Donelan has prosecuted and defended multiple appeals before the U.S. District Court and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, reported cases include In re: Wei Tu Reasonover, U.S. Court of Appeals, 4th Circuit, Case No. 99-2534 and In re: Jeffery Cooper, Civil Action No. 1-05cv918-A.
